Contest 1 - Deadline September 30, 2014. The Thomas Morton Memorial Prize in Literary Excellence is awarded to the single best submission in the respective categories of poetry and fiction. The prize is open for submissions each year from January 1st to September 30th through our online submissions manager. The judges for this year’s prize are Margaret Atwood (for poetry) and Zsuzsi Gartner (for fiction). In addition to publication in Issue 27: Fall 2014, each winning author receives $1000 in addition to a prize pack of books, each valued at approximately $700. Contest 2 - Deadline: September 30, 2014. Infinite Pathways Late summer Creative Writing Contest - Short Stories, Poetry and One-Act Plays. Entry fee: $10/$15. Contest 4 - Early-Bird Deadline: November 17, 2014. Writers Digest Short Story Competition. Fee: $20 (after Nov. 17th to Dec. 15th MORE). Win: 1st-$3000, 2nd-$1500, 3rd-$500, 4th to 10th-$100 and 11th to 25th-$50 gift cert. All winnings get extra bonuses as well. Contest 7 - Deadline: December 31, 2014. Red Tuque Books, Canadian Tales of the Mysterious Short Story Writing Contest. Entry fee: $15 or 2/$25 or 3/$30. Prize money: First place pays $500. Second place pays $150 and the third pays $100. Ten Honourable mention prizes of $25.00 will also be awarded. All will be published in an Anthology.
