OWC is BACK!

After attending the LAST Ontario Writers' Conference in the Spring of 2016 (meaning the last conference EVER to be held again) and hearing the devastating news about the organization folding, I am happy to share good news with you today.

​It is official and I can tell you all about it.

Today, October 1st marks the return of...​

The Ontario Writers' Conference

However, there are some changes to their format: There will be no actual conference. This is sad, BUT there will be other events that we can meet up at and enjoy a great evening with our writer friends again. Yay!

What the Ontario Writers' Conference will have:

Festival of Authors

• Interviews and Author Readings in a café-style atmosphere (with cash bar)

Manuscript Mentoring

• Sit down with a writing mentor and go over a few pages of your work or practice your elevator pitch for agents

Student Scholarships

• Apply for a scholarship (anyone 16+)

Cornerstone Award

• Presented to a Canadian person or organization that demonstrates exemplary support of Canadian writers and the writing field in general.

Story Starter Contest

• A FREE writing contest with monthly winners (Started today!)

OWC Blog

• Check in periodically to find out about author events and other writing opportunities
